The Harry Garratt Foundation is a charity that promotes accessibility to sport for young people and school children in London through funding partnerships with schools and sporting orgnisations.
Since launching, the Harry Garratt Foundation has hosted many community outreach events such as tournaments and fundraisers.
Recent data shows that children from less advantaged background are 14% less likely¹ to meet the recommended level of physical activity.
And with 9 children out of a 30 child classroom¹ in the UK living in relative poverty (the rate for inner-London is even higher) we believe there is a critical funding gap in relation to sport access for young people.
A 2024 report by the Education Policy Institute³ showed that there is a clear link between school age participation in sports and a range of positive outcomes; better health, education and employment outcomes by the time young people reach their early twenties.
Yet schools have faced a 10% funding cut in real terms⁴ over the last 10 years meaning much of this sporting access requires payment from families.
The Harry Garratt Foundation partners with schools and sporting organisations to make means-based funding provisions that provide direct access to sporting participation and equipement.

Our Foundation was inspired by our late name sake, Harry Garratt, who never hesitated to help others and had a passion for giving back. After his passing in 2021 we wanted to honour his memory by creating an organization that embodied his love of sports and spirit of compassion.
We started fundraising in 2021 and become a registered charity in 2024. Earlier in 2025 we began our first pilot disburment with Rose Football Club, providing £1200 funding to help 12 children with their club registrations fees.
Following the successful pilot we are expanding our partnership to help provide sporting access to many more young people in London. Stay in touch to hear about our progress
